Dear Resident, This week has been another good week for arrests by the team. On Monday the officers attended the home address of male wanted for 17 shoplifting offences. Upon attending the officers could tell the male was present but was not answering the door so they forced entry to the address. The male was found upstairs in the bedroom where the officers arrested him. The male was taken to custody. One officer from the team went to one of the store later in the day to obtain statements and CCTV from one of the stores the male had been stealing from. Whilst at the location another male has entered the store and shoplifted items. The officer was able to catch up with the male and arrest him for shoplifting. The items were returned to the store.
Another two were arrested from other arrest attempts conducted by officers on the team. One male was arrested who was wanted for outstanding matters. A female was also arrested for a shoplifting offence after being found at her home address when the officers attended.
As part of Op Advance our team have been involved in different activity on Wednesday which saw our PCSOs conducting speedwatches at locations across the four wards as raised by members of the community. The officers conducted patrols targeting vehicles involved in crime.
On Friday one of our PCSO and officers went to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a storage location. upon arrival officers conducted a number of enquiries on the vehicle and other vehicles at the location. As a result three vehicles from the location were seized suspected stolen.
This Nissan was seized by officers whilst on patrol Friday night as the vehicle was driven dangerously toward the marked police vehicle. The driver who was delivering food was in such a hurry he didn't yield for the police vehicle at a point in the road where he should have. The officers stopped the vehicle to speak to the driver. Checks were carried out on the vehicle which showed that it had no insurance. The vehicle was subsequently seized.
